Reggae's influence on popular music over the past three decades cannot be overstated. Aside from being a thriving - and still developing - scene itself, reggae has been central to development of, amongst others, rap, trance, and drum 'n' bass.
Reggae Grooves reflects both reggae's creative breadth and its potential to musicians across a wide range of genres who simply want some reggae spin on their music - a beat, a skank, a bubbling bassline.
At its heart Reggae Grooves contain no less than 225 individual drum grooves, ranging from classic 1 drop feels, through to dancehall, lovers rock, and ska. As ever we have used a number of different specialist drummers in the production of these beats, reflecting both reggae's human and beatbox styles.
In addition to the basic beats is a large collection of custom basslines, both guitar and keyboard skanks, guitar lead lines and pick parts, organ bubbles by the score, brass, and even some superb snakey Clavinet lines.
